At the start of 2020 I didn't think I'd have to wait until August for my first visit to Brands Hatch, but then 2020 has been a very odd year. In fact I wasn't sure if I'd make it at all until I got an unexpected opportunity to attend. A classic car club had space on their stand and were giving away free tickets to classic car owners if they came along to fill the slots, so I jumped at the chance and into my Mini Cooper.
I didn't need much persuading as this is the highlight of the season at Brands for me. There's so much to admire about these historic cars going head to head on the full GP circuit. The noise for one, but also those evocative liveries and classic car curves do it for me every time!

I've really missed the Goodwood Members Meeting and Silverstone Classic this year. Both fantastic events, but there's something more intimate about the Brands Hatch circuit which takes you closer to the action. It's so easy to walk the whole circuit without losing sight of it (something I really struggled with at Monaco). And even though they have beefed up the barriers, I find there are still plenty of good photography spots, even if you do have to hide in a bush!!
